Not a huge amount of people know that a white rainbow is a actually a rainbow that occurs at night. Due to the smaller amount of light from the moon they are too faint to excite the cone colour receptors in our eyes. As a result they appear to be white. Excuse the tenuous link but here is another interesting fact, Kranky have just released a new album entitled Prism of Eternal Now by Adam Faulkner aka White Rainbow. Both of these things are hidden gems in life, although the latter deserves as much recognition as possible!

Adam Forkner has previously worked with The Dirty Projectors, Jackie-O Motherfucker and Devandra Banhart but this White Rainbow release without doubt surpasses his previous work. Nine songs spanning seventy one minutes of warm, fuzzing beautiful pop that meanders through, and breathes new life into archaic sub-genres such as prog-rock, new age and hippie folk incantations. This release leaves behind the bounds of gravity for a free floating headtrip of inner space exploration and is available now for you listening pleasure.
