April March – Chick Habit (1995)
MySpace

A California girl who sings as easy in French as she does in English, and as easily punk as blues as pop as yéyé as ballads as... you name it, she does it.

Elinor Blake, as April's real name is, started singing in punk band The Shitbirds. This band didn't last long so April started a solo career. Or rather, she started several cooperations with a.o. The Makers and Bassholes. Recording for the Sympathy for the Record Industry label, she appears no less than 4 times on the compilation Alright, This Time Just the Girls (solo and in bands).

Having a thing for French yéyé music she recorded a mini-album Chick Habit which not only contains a few songs of Serge Gainsbourg but also an inlay-picture and thank you's.

Then she met Bertrand Burgalat and signed to his Tricatel label which led to some more serious, mainly French sung, albums of which Chrominance Decoder was the first.
