Thousand Mile Stare is the fifth studio album by British electronic dance music artist Chicane. An exclusive 'Collectors Edition Box Set' version of the album was released on December 12th, 2011 before any regular CD or digital version was announced. The boxed set was made available to preorder by November 18, 2011. Those who purchased the boxed set had their name included on the back panel of the booklet. The album's cover artwork pays homage to Jean Michel Jarre's Magnetic Fields (1981).

‘Thousand Mile Stare – The Collector’s Edition’ is a milestone collection celebrating one of the leading trance luminary that is Chicane, all assembled to a customised spec by the man himself with his devoted fanbase in mind.

All contained in a luxury hard back matte box, 3 jam-packed CD’s are divided into the brand new studio album ‘Thousand Mile Stare’ which was recorded over the last year in Chicane AKA Nick Bracegirdle’s own Modena studio, is the much anticipated follow up to the critically acclaimed, top 40 album ‘Giants’, and includes most recent single “Going Deep”; a novelty hard drive molded into a shape of a cassette tape which features 13 previously unheard demo versions of hits new and old, some from the “Offshore” era, the rest from across the catalogue, as well as a demo of the much talked about but never released (until now) “Mojave”. Chicane really felt the need to include these in order to give his fans a ‘behind-the-scenes’ sonic experience of what went into the making of these tracks and how they eventually took shape.

The third and final audio disc in the package contains, all gathered into one track listing for the first time ever, many of Chicane’s best remixes which have been club hits on their own; including the fantastically paired down deep house Freakazoid version of the top 10 smash “Poppiholla” plus the popular Man Called Adam remix of the seminal “Offshore”. Also included are the previously un-release “Locking Down” mixes, featuring rare and glorious Bhangra flavoured sounds which will be a treat for any true fan to own.

In addition to a full-on musical selection, there is also included in this high quality collectible a premium A4-size booklet which is individually signed by Chicane and includes never-before-seen photographs of the artist as well as a self- penned story of the concept behind the new album and the recording sessions that were conducted to make it.
