Les Alsaciens et les Lorrains sont Français!
L'Alsace et la Lorraine sont deux vieilles provinces.
Elles ont été réunies à la France à la même époque que les Flandres, la Franche-Comté, le Roussillon.
Le jour où, sous la Révolution, les peuples ont pu, pour la première fois, exprimer librement leurs préférences, en 1790, le 14 juillet, à la Fête de la Fédération, les Délégués d'Alsace et de Lorraine ont prêté le serment , avec ceux de toutes les autres provinces, de renoncer à leurs privilèges et de concourir à former LA FRANCE UNE ET INDIVISIBLE.

Vingt-huit généraux d'Alsace et de Lorraine ont leur nom gravé sur l'Arc-de-Triomphe, à Paris. Depuis le début de la guerre actuelle, plus de 20.000 Alsaciens-Lorrains se sont engagés dans l'armée française.
En 1870, les Allemands envahirent l'Alsace et la Lorraine. Ces malheureuses provinces furent la rançon de la paix, en 1871. Elles furent arrachées à la France, malgré leur douleur, par la violence. Mais, conformément au Droit des Peuples, dont elles avaient usé en 1790, elles protestèrent par la voix de leurs députés, en 1871, en 1874. Elles refusèrent de devenir allemandes, comme vous aussi et vos parents vous le refuseriez si on vous obligeait, aujourd'hui.
Or, l'Allemagne a passé outre! — Toujours, l'Alsace et la Lorraine protestèrent depuis.
En 1914, tous les traités ont été rompus par l'Allemagne qui nous a déclaré la guerre. Nous voulons délivrer nos départements du Nord envahis; nous voulons aussi délivrer ceux qui sont formés par l'Alsace et la Lorraine. Les premiers sont envahis depuis quatre ans. Les seconds depuis quarante-sept ans! — Ils sont tous également attachés à la Patrie. Ils sont tous Français.
