The albums were remastered by Steve Hoffman in 1999. This link provides some information about it : http://www.encycmet.com/news/2002-03-17b.shtml . Compared to the original CD the sound is warmer, more powerful and has better dynamics. The albums sound a tad cleaner as well.

As you remember, this album suffered from the complete lack of bass. In this version the problem is fixed. Someone recorded and added the bass track to it.
